Pricing Adjustments Set for
August (June, 2008) The
unprecedented rise in metals and energy costs have forced us to
implement some modest price adjustments effective August 1st, 2008.
In just the last 6 months, our pricing for cold-rolled steel has
climbed over 60%, with forecasts calling for even higher pricing
through the rest of 2008. We are simply unable to carry
current pricing over through to the end of a 2nd year without
offsetting a portion of these raw material cost hikes.
The broad price adjustment average on most reel models will be
approximately 6%, but there will be some deviations in both
directions from this average, depending on the model. The best
way to plan for any changes is to visit the
Hannay Dealer Login
page with your customer account number, and download all of the
relevant August 2008 pricing from there.

"AG" and "AGN" Series Spring-Retractable Reels (January, 2008) |
|
| |

"AGN800" Series Reel
(Patent Pending) Shown Above
|
The "AG" (Air-Governor) family of reels, developed by Hannay Reels
with a patent pending, is the ultimate solution for gaining
control over the rewind speed of a spring-powered reel. Because
speed is regulated by linking the power spring to an air restrictor,
the result is smooth, controlled rewind speed every time the reel is
used. In particular, the AG series reels have three primary
advantages over other speed control solutions:
- Highly scalable- The air governor can be scaled up to
regulate speed on even the most powerful spring reels we offer.
Other designs can only work on light-duty springs.
- Operates in all climates- Because the AG series uses
air flow to control speed, and not hydraulic fluids which degrade
in performance as temperatures drop, it does not matter what the
ambient temperature is for proper reel operation.
- Fully adjustable- The user can turn the air restrictor
in either direction until the optimal rewind speed is found for
the application.

Plant Construction Update (January, 2008) |
|
| |
 |
Hannay Reels has now moved into
the upper level of our new 44,000 sq. ft. addition on the south end
of our property. Already, our employees have gained some much
needed additional space for fabrication, hose installation, and
outbound shipping. Additional departments will begin occupying
the lower floor of the new building over the next several months.
The new paint oven and conveyor system is one of the centerpieces of
this expansion, more than doubling our maximum production
capabilities while improving the durability of the finish.

AVD Series Cable Reels (June, 2007) |
|
| |
The AVD series reel includes the AVD-2 reel
(shown here with optional casters) and the smaller AVD-1.
These portable, stackable reels are similar in construction to the
AV series, but have a slotted divider disc within the reel spool.
This divider disc provides a convenient way for the user to have
unobstructed access to both cable connector ends.
With this feature, it is easy to pull off any
length of cable and still have access to both connectors.
There is no need to pull the entire length of cable off the reel
before using it.
Divider discs are also optionally available on
most Hannay audio-video (AV) models, including the AVC-1500 series
reels. |

Cable Drum Extensions (June, 2007) |
|
| |
 |
On our AVC16, AVC20, C16, and C20 families of reels, we now offer
a cable storage drum extension option, seen in the picture to the
left. Similar in purpose to divider discs, these drum
extensions allow user access to both ends of the cable without
taking off the entire length, saving valuable time and effort.
These reels are used in a variety of applications, including
military, commercial broadcast, pro-audio, and other communications
applications. |
